I have only seen one comic over the past couple of months who played an instrument and sang, and he sang covers, delivering them as comedy, of course. I'm not a comic but I do write funny songs. I was watching a stand-up comedy show for the gazillionth time a few nights ago and had a revelation. Perhaps that will help me catch up on #4. As I write this, I decided that I'm going to go home, print them out along with the things that I did because of them and post them in a visible place at home. I can definitely say that writing my objectives down clearly helped me to focus and move forward at a more rapid rate.

Overall, I would say that I am pleased with the results and feel that if I had not created these resolutions, or goals, I would not have made any more progress than in 2008. I'll discuss all seven in detail in upcoming blog posts. On the other hand, I have added three additional goals to the list. Unfortunately, I regressed on the forth goal.
#I am a tunesmith slingblade full
Having a full time job and two teenagers definitely keeps me busy but I still feel that I had not been doing everything that I could with respect to music. As 2008 drew to a close, I realized that even though I had been writing quite a bit, I had not been putting my all into it.

In doing so, I'm going to begin with thoughts and events from back in December of 2008. Among his best-known tunes are the 1979 Number One Gatlins single “All the Gold in California,” the Grammy-winning “Broken Lady,” and “Houston (Means I’m One Day Closer to You).” Elvis Presley and Dottie West have both cut Gatlin’s songs.Ok, I've been negligent with my blog so it's time to catch up. Larry Gatlin, who joins the Hall of Fame in the veteran songwriter/artist category, has the distinction of having written - on his own - every chart single scored in both his solo career and as a member of the Gatlin Brothers. While he has remained headquartered on the West Coast, where he has also appeared in numerous films, including Sling Blade, Yoakam’s string of hits has included self-penned tunes such as his first solo chart-topper, “I Sang Dixie,” and later tunes such as “Fast as You” and “A Thousand Miles From Nowhere.” Inducted in the songwriter/artist category, Dwight Yoakam was among the neo-traditionalists who broke through in the mid-Eighties.
